There are many things that happen to keep the rescue going. We have the kennels of course, but our shop is essential in helping us fund the costs of the rescue.
We have a brilliant crew who volunteer in our shop on Tolan Street, Ballina, and we are always looking for new people willing to give a few hours of their time! Contact us today if you are able to help.

We have some special dogs that are unable to be adopted and so are placed in long-term foster with our amazing foster homes. These dogs have high needs and will need support from Ainmhithe for the rest of their lives.

Jack was handed into the sanctuary when his owner went into hospital. He is around 15 years old and is nearly blind. He struggles in new situations due to his lack of sight and this can make him quite anxious. Due to his age and sight issues he will need regular check ups for life.
He is currently living his best life with a lovely foster family and their resident dog, who helps him explore the world, and gives him the confidence boost he needs to enjoy his twilight years.
